Terrific credit card gateway, and easily integrated into my store.   Thanks, Tomas.

Wow that way easy.  Approved in 60 seconds. Set up in 60 seconds.  Ready to collect payments.

I'm going to stick with PP as we can get the funds transfered to our bank in 2 days but it is great to have a backup.

I think we are going to give paypal a rest for a month or two and see how this stripes thing works.  If it doesn't work, then I'll go back to paypal.  It's nice to have another choice.  We have had some payments come through this afternoon through stripes and everything seems to be working great right now and I want to thank Tomas for jumping on this and getting stripes set up in highwire.

Stripes deposits every day into your bank account,  but they run 7 days behind and I can live with that.

I may have to transfer money into Paypal, from the bank account,  to make the Paypal debit card business purchases and get the 1.5% back.  Other than that, I don't see an issue.  I like the idea that Paypal can not freeze our credit card merchant account.

I have both Snipe and Paypal on my site (with the one Page checkout).   Buyers can choose "Pay with a Credit Card" or "Paypal".   Since Paypal is still used by some of my customers, I kept both.   Since neither Snipe nor Paypal charge me anything unless I have a sale, why not?

LOL, "Stripes" and "Snipe", close but it's just "Stripe". ")

Carolyn, can you please double check your Stripe settings on Highwire. It looks like it saved with out your keys for some reason.

I reentered and saved the API keys.  Let me know if it looks okay from your end.

( Sent as a support ticket also).  Tomas wrote in the forum:  "Carolyn, can you please double check your Stripe settings on Highwire. It looks like it saved with out your keys for some reason".  So, I reentered and saved the API Keys.  When I check "edit" on my payment settings for Stripe, is shows the "secret" (fyi - secret misspelled on the screen) key but the "publishable key" shows blank.   When I enter the api keys, the secret key appears as it is, but the "publishable key" shows only dots.     So I have no way of knowing if the publishable key is there and if it is correct.   (BTW - Shouldn't the "Secret Key" be the one that is hidden?)   Would someone at Highwire please verify that the API keys have been saved correctly.

So both of you were just using Paypal and didn't accept credit cards directly? Just curious as to what you were doing before. If that's the case, you should notice orders pick up for sure.

I talked to my Greg, and he's not ready to take a step in the credit card pool yet. He doesn't want to pay the $5 a month, and he's too nervous about taking cc's directly through Stripe. I think the thought that many of his items are over $100 or so makes him nervous about taking cc's directly for stuff.

i closed my first Highwire Store about 9 months ago and went to Etsy. Wasn't great, but acceptable.  They only took Paypal (although they are moving a few stores at a time to accepting Credit Cards through Etsy). However, a month ago Etsy decided that i could not sell any "accessories" with clothing, ie., purses, shoes, handbags, hats, unless I made them or changed them.  I knew it was time to come back to Highwire.    I have been looking for an affordable gateway since.   Many of my customers are following me from Etsy,so they will continue to use Paypal but I'm hoping to attract new customers offering credit cards.

littleonlinestore, not sure if you were talking to me but we use PayPal Payments Pro to accept credit cards as well as PayPal payments.

I don't see how any store could survive without taking CC nowadays.

Well, that sucks since you make the clothes and the accessories are with the clothes.

I was thinking more about Carollyn and Joe. I took PP for Paypal Pro. I was just curious if they were using Paypal for cc's or not.

I'm going to wait until Propay is due again (give Stripe a couple of months to get the hang of things..lol) and then most likely switch over to Stripe once I can get more feedback. I like Propay better than Paypal Advanced unless that can be customized without the white background, but Stripe is free, and even saving $65 a year is something.

LOS - also note that there is no fee at Stripe to transfer money to your bank account - they automatically send it to your bank 7 days after it is received, and no fee for returns (although they do keep the transaction fee (2.9 % + 30 c).   The only fee, in addition to the transaction fee is a $15.00 chargeback fee.   Great for a small seller like me.

Not if you are using it with your Highwire store.

Thanks flafdiscounter I did register with Stripe but after looking it overt the set up appears to be over my head, didn't know would need to devise forms

jmart, you don't have to set up any forms if you are using stripe on highwire.  Tomas has done all of that for you.  Just go to your payments menu on highwire, select stripe and enter the two codes that you received from stripe and it is done in less than a minute.  No forms.  No programming. It's plug and play.

I guess I messed something up. I signed up for the stripe and tried to make a purchase from my own store using my debit card and get this message

This API call cannot be made with a publishable API key. Please use a secret API key. You can find a list of your API keys at https://manage.stripe.com/#account/apikeys. I went to the address given for api but still get this same message
