Highwire Commerce app for Android now available!

We're pleased to announce a great addition to the Highwire features list. We have released an official Android App now available on the Android Market. This app will allow you to keep up to date with new orders, view & search detailed order history, and view date-based order statistics. Multiple accounts are also supported.
The app is free to download and can be found by searching for "Highwire" in the Android Market on your device. We will soon be releasing an iPhone compatible app once approved by the Apple App Store.

wow great stuff. Will there be anything for the symbian users? nokia etc?
At this time, we only have plans to release Android and iPhone versions.

Thomas will you be able to add products on the fly with this app? What I had in mind was to be able to take picture of the product and post it right away via app. Any support for Blackberry?

stuff4sale, Eventually, we may add some additional functionality but not immediately. We only have plans for Android and iPhone devices at this time.

I just downloaded the app, and I entered my correct store name, user name and password and I'm getting a error message "Unable to validate your login. Please try again"
Please be sure you are using the correct login.
Example:
Storename: yourstorename
Username: admin
Password: yourpassword
Your store name would be yourstorename.highwire.com
Alternatively, you can use a staff login for the username and password if you have staff accounts set up.
I enter the correct login, I even have retrieved my login information to make sure it was correct, but still getting the same validate error!
I just tested authorization on your account on my device and it worked correctly. Please ensure your autocorrect is not changing the storename and username.
I carefully enter all the login information just the way i entered on my computer, but still getting the same error.
I even uninstall the application and downloaded again.
Something else. when downloading the app i got a message that says "restart required, an application restart is required" I clicked on continue and then the highwire commerce logo appears on the whole screen, it stay there for long. What am I suppose to do there? what I did was restart my phone?
I don't know if this has something to do with this problem that I have.
Im going to download it as soon as my hubby walks in the door with his Droid. (I was already looking into getting one for myself earlier today!)

For Storename... are you saying to put JUST yourstorename (as it apears in the url) or are you saying to put the entire url?
For Username --- I always enter yourstorename ... should it be that, or should it actually, literally be admin?

xl3, please try logging in again. I added some logging for failed authorization attempts to capture what what you are submitting.
xl3, I saw your login attempts and you are entering your login incorrectly. You need to enter:
storename: xl3vintageclothing
username: admin
password: yourpassword

i just went to the android market and searched "highwire' but with no " of course. and it says there's no app with that name :(
I figured out what Thomas is sayins and it worked for me
storename - type in store name
login - type the word (admin)
password - type in your store password
and now it should work
is anyone else having trouble finding the app in the market?
hum... I went to the market and under search typed highwire and it said there was no app with that name. Oh well
All these apps are making me feel so outdate....lol Thanks though :)

since we don't use the same login as our stores...
entering "ADMIN" as the username instead of our USERNAME which we normally log in with...
WHY EVEN HAVE THE FIELD THERE?
Why not just the "store name" plus the "admin account's password"?
More Stupid Redundancy..
Why not add 7 more fields where we enter info that is NOT unique to our account?

This ADMIN problem, is more PRIVILEDGED Info.. That TOMAS knows... and ASSUMES the rest of us KNOW IT TOO...
That is My Biggest Complaint About Highwire..
Something To Consider, How much time would you & support save by NOT BEING VAGUE & writing a proper description the 1st time?
Katrina, some older versions of android OS, Do not show apps that are designed for NEWER versions of android..
I looked it up on my OLD plexon 10" android tablet that runs android 1.6.. and NO RESULTS.. However on my Android 2.3 Droid X it shows up.
maybe this is your issue..
Yeah I'm talking to my phone company. They are trying to get it to work if not I might just have to buy myself a new phone. Poor me lol
Ok yep I have the 1.6.1 so it wont run. So I have a new phone on the way :-) Thank you Thomas for giving me a reason to buy a new phone

Highwire also supports the use of multiple staff accounts. You can login with your master admin account or a staff account if one is set up. This is the reason for the additional "username" field.
Example: With staff accounts, you can set up a username of "pam" and give her certain access and restrictions to your admin.
I had found it before on android and it wouldn't let me sign in. Now I can not find it on the market.
When will the iPhone app come out?! I am eagerly waiting for it!
Ok so I just got my new phone with the new software and it can not find the app. Also the guy I'm on the phone with from t0mobile can't seem to find it in the market either??? Any ideas?
