Looking for a few ShipStation users..

Tomas

We're looking for a few ShipStation users to test their new integration with Highwire. Please post here if you are interested and want more details.

ShipStation is one of our first partners using our API we recently released.

What is ShipStation?

ShipStation is a web-based shipping solution that streamlines the order fulfillment process for online retailers. With real-time integrations into popular marketplaces and shopping cart platforms, ShipStation handles everything from order import and batch label creation to customer communication. Advanced customization features allow ShipStation to fit businesses with any number of users or locations.

I'd like to help, but I had not heard of ShipStation.

I just checked it out, and it's just too expensive for what I need to do.  I need multiple channels.  I would like to integrate with multiple carriers, but not for 50$ more a month than I currently pay.   I just don't deal in many heavy/large items, so USPS is 95%+ of my packages.      ShipStation does not offer a 1-carrier option, so it won't work for me.

Best wishes with the testing.

====

I currently use Stamps.com, for 15.99 a month (I think that's the rate) - USPS only, but I do use three channels.  My Stamps.com account imports from and writes back to eBay and  Amazon.   I also use it for my Highwire orders (for which I use their "OBDC" option - with no communication back to Highwire).

I would certainly LOVE to have direct integration between my shipping service and Highwire, but I definitely cannot justify the 65$ price tag over the 16$ for Stamps.com.

@girlshorseclothes - Since eBay + Highwire orders will be flowing into ShipStation via the Highwire integration, that will only count as a single “sales channel”.   Since you also sell on Amazon, you would need to be on the Silver plan level at ShipStation ($45) instead of Gold ($65).

Also note, in ShipStation the Endicia account is included, so you would not need stamps.com and can print everything from there.

Thanks for that info, Greg.

Still, 16 a month for Stamps.com vs 45$ a month for ShipStation... I'll have to stick with exporting my order file from HW, and manually closing each order in HW.

I'm sure there is a reason for working with ShipStation, it just isn't the right solution for me - at this time, anyway.

Question... Does ShipStation allow for printing packing slips?, and formatting them as desired, including adding header/footer text/logo images?    If so, will HW be forwarding all the data to ShipStation for that?  (meaning all the line items).         That would save an additional step over the current process... and mean one would not have to come into HW at all in order to process orders (unless they needed/wanted to see pictures of the items purchased).

@girlshorseclothes - I'm Jason from ShipStation.  Yes, our packing slips are completely customizable and you can print them in batch.  This includes adding images, changing fonts, and specifying which fields to show.  Yes, we receive all relevant information from Highwire, so you won't have to log into the Highwire admin system to process orders.  We'll also show product images in ShipStation, and they can also be printed on your packing slips. Thanks!

Jason, since you'er answering questions - - - does this HW integration support Endicia for Mac software? If so, how would this work for existing Endicia for Mac users?

Thanks, Susan

ShipStation works great on Mac!  The Endicia account that you get for free is different than the "Endicia for Mac" account.  If you try ShipStation and like it, then you could just close your Endicia for Mac account. Thanks!

Thanks, Jason.

I would need to hear that from Tomas or Greg, though.... will line item information be sent to ShipStation?   Currently, we can only "get at" the top level order information... not the associated line items.

Thanks,

Cindy

Jason --- Would I be able to have multiple packing slip templates saved?    For example... one for my website orders (through Highwire) and one for my eBay orders, and one for my Amazon orders?

And.... how about sending shipping confirmation emails to my customers?    Again, I'd really want to have multiple templates that I could choose from.

These kinds of "extras" might make it worth the extra cost to me, though I am not sure.      Is there a way to try it out?

AND... @GREG... I do not currently have any integration set up between eBay and Highwire.   My Highwire store is my "main gig", but I also list random stuff on eBay... at least 80% of them being things that I would never offer through my horse themed store (on highwire).      Generally speaking, what would I need to do for my ebay orders to "come through" Highwire and into ShipStation?      (being that they are NOT things that I would be setting up on Highwire)

Thanks,

Cindy

And... Greg/Tomas, just for the fun of it.... any thoughts on integrating with USPS-only providers such Stamps.com?   I see Tomas indicated ShipStation as the first.   I am not at all familiar with API, but I see Stamps.com mentioning it too...  http://developer.stamps.com/developer/api/     (I am not beholden to them, it's just that I do not have need for a multi-carrier solution (nor multi-user).

Thanks, Cindy

"will line item information be sent to ShipStation?"

Yes, ShipStation imports the full order details including individual line items.

" any thoughts on integrating with USPS-only providers such Stamps.com"

We don't have any plans to integrate this directly into Highwire but with our API and the stamps.com API the potential is there for a 3rd party solution. This could be a custom solution privately developed by you or potentially a publicly paid application in the future.

Yes, you can have multiple packing slip templates, and you can assign a different one to each store.

"how about sending shipping confirmation emails to my customers?    Again, I'd really want to have multiple templates that I could choose from."

You can have multiple email templates as well!

I'm really interested in checking this out. Thinking this would be a huge time saver! Would your program recognize the shipping method they prefered? Also, we ship wholesale orders using stamps.com using quickbooks- do you integrate with quickbooks? (I can click on ship on QB and print directly from my invoice).

Hi bicbands! Yes, ShipStation will display the requested shipping method from Highwire.  You can also map the requested method to an actual carrier / service / package combination so that your shipping selections will be pre-filled.  Here's a video that shows this: http://www.shipstation.com/video?v=watch-shipping-service-mappings

ShipStation doesn't currently integrate with QuickBooks, however you can manually paste in offline / wholesale orders.

I'm a user from shipstation, they recommend us to use your system for the addition inventory management,    and I sign up.

But just asked your customer service, seems there is no direct integration between your two companies,  is there a way to experience it?   we really need the inventory management, plus sourcing management in the future if possible.

Thanks

@patazon - Can you explain more about what you need regarding 'direct integration' ? When you use Highwire as your main service (storefront + channels), Highwire will handle all of your inventory, listing, storefront etc.  - ShipStation will then allow you to manage your orders and print your labels and will talk back to Highwire the status etc.. The only integration you need to do is to add in an API access key into ShipStation.  You can get from the settings-->Api Access section in Highwire. Create a key and input it into ShipStation -- Shipstation will then pull in all of your orders from Highwire (this includes your store sales, eBay sales, Bonanza sales, etc.).

Hi Greg

If this can be working, that'll be really great.

Just see you are also powered by inkfrog... and I have shipstation and inkfrog in the same time....... My question is how to handle highwire, inkfrog and shipstation... a little bit confused.

I'll defilitely using your system,  need to figure it out more clearly

@patazon - Highwire functions as any other "Store" in ShipStation.  To set up the integration, go to Settings > Stores > Add a New Store.  Then click the Highwire logo and enter your API key.  Once this happens, all of your Highwire orders will then begin to flow into ShipStation.  This includes web site orders, eBay orders, and Bonanza orders (assuming you have all of those going through Highwire).    Does that make sense?

@shipstation - I understand the order flows from highwire to shipstation.... but is that a way to get all the data from shipstation so we can know the number of the inventory?      to @highwire  as well

@patazon - Highwire doesn't pull information from ShipStation - it works the other way around.  Highwire is an order source.  Instead of hooking up your eBay account to ShipStation, you would hook up your Highwire account.  Then when you ship one of those orders, we'll communicate the tracking information to Highwire who will then pass it along to the correct marketplace.

@ShipStation~ I just signed up, got everything imported, and it looks like it's grabbing every single order ever placed on my site. In the past we didn't take the time to update the tracking info on all our orders (too many to manually input from stamp.com) so I think this is why.

Before I go and screw things up, do I just need to click on all the orders and hit cancel order or mark as shipped? (I don't want them to all receive an email...)

@bicbands - glad to hear that you decided to give us a try!  You simply need to use the "Mark as Shipped" function in ShipStation to mark all of those orders as shipped.  When you do this, you'll see a couple of options to notify Highwire as well as your customers that the orders have been shipped.  You can leave these options deselected so that neither things happen.  Thanks!

So far I'm loving the amount of time ship station is saving us! Still getting used to the format... But I did come across two bugs... First, when a customer orders 2 of the sa, product, it's taking the item total for the two items (2@$10=$20) and ship station is making the price $20, so it shows the total now at $40. Not sure why/how but my packing slip is off. Also, on the high wire side, we now dont open and print through high wire, since SS grabs everything- the red circle notification thing is showing a ton of new orders. Is there a way to clear those? I have closed the orders. And one las general question- what's the best and most efficient way to print the labels and packing slips- I like everything on one sheet but now I'm using a full sheet of label... Is there a more economical way?

@bigbands - I'm glad to hear that ShipStation is saving you time!  Thank you for reporting the issue with multi-quantity items.  We figured out the issue, and it will be fixed by the end of the week.  I'll let someone from Highwire respond to your other issue.  Thanks!

@bicbands - if you checkmark the orders and choose to 'close' them (from the actions menu) it will remove the new order icon.

Thanks Shipstation~

And @highwire~ i currently have 101 open orders and it shows 133 in the red circle.... (we just did a sale, hence the high numbers....)

What you suggested above is how we close our orders. I'll have to pay attention to it this afternoon when we close out more orders. But the red dot should never be higher than the # of actual open orders, right?

It sounds like it is from orders that were not cleared out correctly and/or 'viewed'.  We are investigating that -- in the meantime, we are going to make it so once you click on the red badge icon, it clears it out.

Thanks Greg. When I clicked on it, it brought up all the "new" orders. A handful of them were closed.... thanks for the fix!

If we have a sale through eBay, but it is imported through Highwire, will the tracking info populate all the way back through Highwire and then onto eBay?

@handmadehomestead - yes, when ShipStation sends the tracking info back to Highwire, Highwire will then pass it along to eBay.

I'm really loving Shipstation~ but have a question~ when a cusomer pays with a paypal check, Highwire will be notified when they are paid, but it's not transfering over all the time to ShipStation. I just realized my shipping manager is missing a handful of orders when she just uses shipstation~

Can someone let me know if there is a way to fix this?

@bicbands - this issue should now be resolved.  Future PayPal checks should be correctly marked as paid when they clear.  Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

I cannot get my Highwire account to link to Shipstation. There is an error in one of the Highwire links during the setup process. Shipstation sent me back to Highwire to get this resolved. How do I get this fixed?
