Yes, Ive asked a bunch of times.
But... I dont get what the big deal is. If price can be displayed, why not SKU? My guess is it was just overlooked when things were first set up. Would it really be a lot of work to make it available?
I am embarassed almost EVERY time I take a phone call, because my customers and I have no way to indicate the item we are talking about.
I know the SKU number "does not mean anything" to the customer --- Hell, they do not mean anything to me either.... BUT... a a person's NAME usually does not mean anything to most other people either ----- YET, we ALL have names (all cultures, the world over, right) , NOT becaues they mean something --- but as a way to COMMUNICATE to each other.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE save me the embarassment and allow me to indicate an item number on my products.
OR.... please - tell me why it would be difficult.
Ive been a pretty good customer... pretty helpful... always paid my bills on time... Ive brought people here. Can you throw a girl a tid bit?
thanks!

OMG - Im turning into my mother in law! I have never used the phrase "tid bit" before! Thats HER, offering a small snack or a "bite to eat" (another phrase she uses!) or telling you how little she eats, LOL!
Seriously. We really do need this. It's very odd we don't have it.
I've given up on this and just started adding the sku to my descriptions. One of these days when I have a few spare days, I may have to break down and bulk edit some 3000-odd items (Right.... like I'll EVER have that much free time....).

It takes a lot of bumps to bump!
Yes, please make the SKU available! I have the same issue when a customer asks for more info on the item, because the SKU tells me where it is. I can obviously look it up in admin, but that gets time-consuming.
