Please make the shipping calculator include dimensions of the package as well as weight. I shipped an order on Monday that was almost 45% more to ship because the size was not taken into consideration at the time of calculation. This is especially important when an item isn't very heavy for its size.
Also I don't see any selections for media mail, so I am currently putting a fixed price for shipping on these items, I'm just afraid that multiple item orders won't get calculated correctly.
Thanks!

Ye, I would love to have a complete feed to USPS and UPS, with all the info. Meanwhile, I just use a flat rate on my larger items.
Media Mail is in the variants, after you save. (I need to suggest that on the Video tutorials!)

Valerie,
Please, pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean "Media Mail is in the variants, after you save?" I have not been able to find a way for Media to be Calculated by USPS. What am I missing. Thanks for all your help.

Are you talking about under the Shipping Settings or on each individual item you want a requirement for dimensions??
I would have to ask that if this is ever implemented it is an OPTION and NOT a requirement - because I would have no clue what the dimensions of my package will be until the customer completes the order. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding.
For our purposes, probably both, shipping settings and each item. For instance, I know that I typically need to add 4" to each dimension of my item in order for it to be secure during transit, so if I could enter the weight and dimensions of each item, then the shipping settings would add the decided values for dollars, weight and inches to get the cost for shipping.
Basically like InkFrog and ebay are set up right now, where I have my weight and dimensions set up in inkfrog per item and then discount shipping set up on ebay that subtracts a certain weight for an item if it is added to another package and choose which shipping discount profile to apply on a per item basis.
James, right now the Media Mail setting is under the "Options/Variants" tab, that appears after you first save a product. You have to click "edit" on each option to add it. However, when I tried it, it didn't work. I have a support ticket open and Tomas has asked me questions about it, so I presume they're working on it.

I have several items that I would love to list here but the dimensions are over 12 in. I'm on the east coast and when shipping them to the west coast I could potentially have to pay quite a bit out of pocket for the shipping fee. I have several items for wall decor, kitchen canisters, etc. that I can't take a chance on having to ship to zone 7 or 8. The flat rate boxes are so small most of my inventory won't fit in them. If we could include the dimensions of the package I could greatly increase the amount of items in my store and have the peace of mind that the shipping would be accurate.
